Baby, it's cold outside!

It is c-c-c-cold out! At this moment it is 36 degrees & very damp. I know that my family in MN & ND must be giggling at my drama, but it really is cold outside!! Especially for this thin-skinned warm-weather girl. Morgan said this morning, as she was putting lip balm on her very dry, cracked lips, "I hate winter! Unless it's snowing!" The funny thing is, she's only been in snow one time (when we lived in NC) and her only experience was going sledding (so I can see how she'd say that). I don't know how people in really cold parts of the country function with small children (Lanae!!). With all of the bundling up - coats, hats, gloves, etc. etc. etc. - which really isn't so bad until you have to put the chickens in carseats!! You're going to have to fill me in on proper procedure. Do you leave their coats on & drive without the heater on? Or do you turn on the heater & then take off their coats in the vehicle? But then! How do you get their coats back on before exposing them to the cold again?! Am I just being blonde or is it really as dramatic as all that? :) I'd appreciate some feedback from you experienced cold-weather moms. In fact, post it on the blog because I'm positive there are a lot of women that could use the advice! And if there aren't a lot of women that could use the advice, don't tell me. I'd rather not know if I'm alone in this...

Walking backwards...

This past Tuesday, Allie, Alexis & I were walking down the hallway at MOPS and Alexis turns around and starts walking backwards. It was so cute!! I'd never seen her walk backwards before and she was so proud. Of course, this momma-always-in-a-hurry had to slow down even more!! Perhaps I could ask God for just one more hour in my day...

Creature from the Black Lagoon

Allie's birthday is coming up in just over a month - she's going to be 4 years old!! That's crazy - "4" is such a big number!! Okay, not really, but it's bigger than 3...

It's so handy that Valentine's Day & Allie's birthday are less than a week apart because pink & red are Allie's favorite colors. And there is certainly no shortage of pink & red right now! Allie has decided that she'd like to have birthday party at home this year, so that's what we'll be doing.

I'm not sure if I've ever told you how Allie loves the 1950's "horror" classic movie The Creature from the Black Lagoon. It's hysterical! The dramatic music plays and the monster's claw hand slowly moves up the embankment of the lagoon... Allie gets so excited!! We first watched the movie after checking it out at the library - and have done so a number of times, at Allie's request. Allie has brought up getting the movie again, so I thought I'd check out eBay to see if I could find it. And bonus of bonuses!! There are THREE movies in the series!!! Allie is going to be beside herself when she opens her birthday present!! I can't wait to watch her! :)

Getting to Know MK

I realize that looking through a catalog or visiting a website filled with unfamiliar products can be quite daunting. So, I’ve decided to create a newsletter entitled Getting to Know MK to introduce you to some of the products that I consider to be my favorites. Not every product that Mary Kay offers is a good match for you (or me!) so my mission is to match you with the ones that are. If you would like to receive these newsletters, please let me know & I'll be sure to include you on my email list.

Today's topic is Lips, Lips & More Lips, featuring the Satin Lips Set and an alternative to wearing red lipstick. If you have a favorite Mary Kay product, please let me know what it is & why so that I can include it in my newsletters. Have a beautiful day!!

Wow - It's 2008!!

I can't believe we're into a new year already - Happy New Year!! We had a very nice Christmas & I hope that you did, too. I can hardly wait to see what new adventures my Chickens take their Mother Hen on this year...
